Volleyball Results and Play-in
Viking Volleyball last night fought to the end in a 5 set battle. The Vikings took the first set 25-21 and then Cottage Grove battled back taking the next two sets 15-25 and 18-25. It came down to the wire with Cottage Grove taking the final set in a 13-15 nail biter. Hayden Muller had 38 digs and Meika Shappell had 44 digs followed by Desi Tupua with 31 and Mylee Blake with 22. The loss sets the Vikings up for a one game play-in against Banks. Banks is 4-4 on the season and 5-13 overall. The game will be played at Banks. According to Siuslaw Athletic Director Chris Johnson says it will likely be Tuesday at 6:30 pm.
Viking Football
The Siuslaw Vikings head to Santiam Christian this evening for a battle. The Eagles are 3-3 overall and have won against Amity, Sisters and Elmira. Amity is the only school with a winning record. Siuslaw at 6-0 looks to keep their undefeated streak going. The game will be broadcast on KCST beginning at 6:45.
Run for the Brownies
Chad Hughes took the first slot in the annual Run For the Brownies yesterday. Hughes completed the 3000 meter race in 9:39 as the Vikings topped Marshfield and Waldport. Vikings took the top 4 places and finished out the top ten taking 6th, 7th, and 9th. Rylee Colton finished 11th for the girls with a time of 11:34
