Athlete of the Week
The Sports Club, the Siuslaw News and Coast Radio Sports congratulate senior Mapleton basketball player Joe Shepard as this week’s Athlete of the Week. Shepard scored a career high 33 points in Mapleton’s win over the McKenzie Eagles last week. Scoring 12 points in the first quarter.
Honorable mentions goes to Siuslaw wrestler Dayne Muller who took first place in the district regionals qualifying for state with 4 other fellow Vikings.
Viking Boys Get First League Win
The Siuslaw Viking boys nabbed their first league win last night against Elmira. The Vikings defeated the Falcons 47-42. The Vikings play again this evening at home against Junction City that game will be broadcast on KCST after the Mapleton Girls game. At approximately 7:15.
Sailor Boys Ousted by Eddyville Charter
Mapleton Sailor boys basketball was defeated by Eddyville charter, final score was not available.
Sailor Girls Playoff
This evening the Mapleton Sailor Girls will be on the court for a playoff game against Alsea that game will be broadcast on KCST beginning at 5:45. The Siuslaw Viking girls will also be on the court this evening at 5:45 against Junction City.
Ducks Over Cougars
The Oregon Ducks defeated the Washington State Cougars last night 62-59 led by De’Vion Harmon and N’Faly Dante both with 13.
Beavers vs. Cardinal
The Oregon State Beavers are on the court tonight against the Stanford Cardinal, that game will be on KCFM beginning at 5:30.
