Cheer Championships
Over the weekend the Siuslaw Viking cheer team competed in state competition and the co-ed team took 4th place overall. The competition took place at the Salem Pavillion. The team consist of 4 seniors, 2 juniors, 3 sophomores and 3 freshman.
Vikings End Basketball Season
The Siuslaw Vikings finished out their 2020/2021 basketball season on Friday against Cottage Grove. The boys finished the season 7-15 overall and 1-9 in league play. The Lions defeated the Vikings 50-37. The Viking Girls also lost to the Lions 54-11 the young Vikings were winless for the seaon.
Mapleton Sailors Basketball
The Mapleton Sailor Girls finished off their season in the 1a playoffs on Saturday. The Sailors were defeated by Crow 57-33.
College Hoops in the Desert
The Oregon Ducks kept it close in the desert on Saturday but couldn’t overcome the Arizona wildcats despite getting more rebounds and having fewer turnovers. The Ducks got within 2 in the final seconds but Arizona held them off after a late foul by the Ducks to win 84-81.
The Oregon State Beavers were in Tempe with the Sundevils ASU defeated the Beavers 73-53.
