Athlete of the Week
The Sports Club, the Siuslaw News and Coast Radio Sports congratulate junior track and field standout Hunter Petterson as this week’s Athlete of the Week. Hunter finished in first place in the 100 meter with a time of 11.88 and was part of the second place 4×400 and 4×100 relay teams.
Honorable mention goes to Siuslaw’s Isaac Garza. Who was 4 for 7 at the plate against Klamath Union and pitched 2 and a 1/3 innings tossing 20 strikes out of 29 pitches.
College Baseball
The Oregon Ducks face off against Gonzaga from Spokane today with a 3 pm first pitch. The Oregon State Beavers are off today and fact Seattle tomorrow at 3:05.
Pole Vault Competition
Tomorrow the Vikings host the Florence Street Vault on the streets of Old Town Florence. The competition begins at noon.
