Pole Vault Event
Yesterday morning volunteers set up for a special Pole Vault competition. Bay Street was closed between Maple and Laurel as student athletes from several school competed. Junior Olympic gold medalist Addison Kleinke was featured at the event. Kleinke cleared 13’1” at the Junior Olympics. She attends Willamette Connections Academy in Eugene.
Beavers Top Seattle U
Oregon State Baseball hosted Seattle University yesterday at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field. The Beavers took a 3 -0 lead in the second inning but allowed SU to come back and tie the game in the top of the 7th, but it was shore lived as the Beavers capitalized on two bases loaded walks and a single to bring it back to a 3 run lead. A double with two on by the Beavers Travis Bazzana drove in two more runs in the bottom of the 8th and the Beavers take the win 8-3. Mitchell Verburg got the win for the Beavers.
