Athlete of the Week
The Sports Club, the Siuslaw News and Coast Radio Sports congratulate senior Chad Hughes as this week’s Athlete of the Week. Chad competed in the 1,500 and 3,000 meter race at the Marist Invite taking first place in both races with a time of 9:48.22 in the 3,000 and 4:18.91 in the 1,500. Defeating his closest competitor by 4.5 seconds.
Honorable mention goes to Jonathan Rose who set personal bests in both the Shot Put and Discus. Rose placed third in the shot put with a toss of 41’5.5” and forth in the Discus at 127’8”
Vikings Vs Hidden Valley
The Siuslaw Vikings will be on the field today against the number one team in the state. Hidden Valley is undefeated in their last 26 games and has not lost since returning to play last year. Game time will be at 4 pm with a 3:45 pregame on KCST.
Siuslaw softball will be on the field at home against Creswell beginning at 3pm.
Track and Field Event
Siuslaw JV Track and Field will hold a meet today at Siuslaw High School. Siuslaw will host Elmira, Marshfield and Pacific beginning at 4pm.
