Athlete of the Week
The Sports Club, the Siuslaw News and Coast Radio Sports congratulate senior Viking pitcher Ethan Halpin. Ethan went 6 and a 1/3 inning on Friday in game one against Junction City facing twenty-two batters and striking out six with just three walks. He was also 1 for 3 from the plate.
Honorable Mention
Honorable Mention goes to senior Rylee Colton who finished 4th in the mile at the Prefontaine Rotary Invite with a personal record time of 5:26.15
Bulldogs over Beavers
The Oregon State Beavers were defeated by Gonzaga last night. The Bulldogs pulled together a 7 run 3rd inning after posting 4 runs in the second. The Beavers led briefly in the first scoring 3 and repeated that in the second to take a 6-4 lead, but a string of hits by Gonzaga drove in 7 and added one more in the 6th and 7th inning for a 13-6 victory for the Bulldogs. Game 2 will be played at 5:35 this evening.
Ducks-Pilots
The Oregon Ducks will travel to Portland this evening to face the Portland Pilots in baseball. The game is scheduled to begin at 5 pm
