Siuslaw Baseball/Softball
Siuslaw has scheduled a baseball game today at 5pm. The game will be a continuation of the Marist game that had to be called due to weather last week. The game was stalled after 3 ½ innings. The game schedule is weather permitting and it will be played on the Viking’s home field. The Vikings will then host Elmira/Triangle Lake tomorrow at 5 pm. That game will be covered on KCST beginning at 4:45.
Siuslaw Softball is scheduled for a double header against Cottage Grove today. Those game will be played in Cottage Grove. They will play Elmira/Mapleton tomorrow at 5pm.
Mapleton Track and Field
Mapleton Track and Field participated in a meet on Friday in Toledo. Joe Shepard took first in the Triple Jump with a distance of 40’-8.75” Shepard also took second place in the high jump at 5’-08”.
The Oregon State Beavers and the Oregon Ducks managed to finish out their series despite weather conditions. The Beavers kept the Ducks at bay for the entire series, but almost lost game two with the Beavers closing down the Ducks comeback with a strike out in the top of the 9th. Saturday’s score 8-7. Last night the Beavers held the Ducks scoreless putting up 4 runs on two homers. 4-0.
