Thompson Gets First AAA Outing
Former Siuslaw Baseball Standout and OSU Beaver Jake Thompson had his first outing as a AAA pitcher on Saturday. Thompson pitched 2 innings with one hit and one strikeout and allowed no runs. The Worcester Red Sox dropped the game 3-2.
Ems and Hops
The Eugene Emeralds split their series against Hillsboro. The Ems posted a win on Friday and Saturday 5-4 and 14-2 but the Hops took the Sunday matchup 9-4. The Ems begin a 6 game series against Spokane at PK Park on Tuesday.
Kiwanis Golf
The Coast Radio Kiwanis golf team relied on their handicap to give them a 3rd place finish in Saturday’s Kiwanis Golf Tournament. 27 teams competed in the charity matchup which raised money for local youth and for the Doernbecer Children’s Hospital in Portland.
