Ems Victory
The hits just keep coming for the Eugene Emeralds as they try to separated themselves from the rest of the league. Last night at PK Park in Eugene the Ems gained another game on the Vancouver Canadians with a 4 -2 victory. Scoring for the Ems came first with a solo home run by Ems Left Fielder Carter Williams. They added two more runs in the 5th taking a 3-0 lead. The Canadians added a run in the 6th. in the 9th inning Vancouver scored a run by an RBI single from outfielder PK Morris but Ems pitcher Ty Weber strikes out the final hope for the Canadians. The series resumes tonight at 6:30 at PK Park.
Concert for Siuslaw Football
Country Music artist Ray Scott will be performing at the FEC on Wednesday of next week the show is in support of the Siuslaw Football Program. Scott has appeared on the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville 65 times. According to assistant Viking coach Jeff Gray ticket sales are not reaching their expectations and would like to see a spike in sales over the weekend. Tickets can be purchased online or at the FEC box office for just $25.
