Siuslaw Boys soccer had its first outing yesterday at home against Sweet Home. The Viking/Sailor blended team won the game 2-1.

Volleyball
Viking Volleyball begins today. They will hit the road for Marshfield.
Ems and Dust Devils
The Vancouver Canadians gained a game on the League leading Emeralds. The Ems lost in a close battle to the Tri-City Dust Devils 5-4 last night. They trailed the Dust Devils late in the game and were unable to capitalize. With one man on and two outs in the top of the ninth, Luis Turibio took the Devils pitcher Ivan Armstrong to a full count before fanning a fast ball for the final out. The Ems are a game and a half in front of the Canadians. The series resumes this evening.
