25K for Pioneer Museum
A standing room only crowd packed the Siuslaw Pioneer Museum Friday evening for a birthday party for Sea Lion Caves. It was 90 years ago that the popular tourist attraction opened for business. Steve Saubert, the grandson of one of the founders, said the museum, in Old Town, is a significant part of the community. With that, he presented a check to the museum, from Sea Lion Caves.
“We are proud to present a check for $25,000.”
Saubert went on to say he and the rest of the families who own Sea Lion Caves said they are proud of the community and asked people to join them in supporting the Museum.
“make a donation. It can be huge, or it can be small. We have created some VIP passes, family passes for you which will get you into the Sea Lion Caves free”.
Several people pitched in Friday evening, gathering nearly $500. Saubert said they will continue to accept donations at the museum for the next few weeks.
