Athlete of the Week:
The Sports Club, the Siuslaw News and Coast Radio Sports congratulate Hailee Outlaw as this week’s Athlete of the Week. Hailee had 12 kills and a 5 serve run in the Viking win against Harrisburg on Thursday. Coach Ashlee Cole says Hailee has become an important part of the team and is excited to watch her grow this season.
Honorable mention goes to Siuslaw soccer stand out Yoskar De la Mora. Yoskar scored 2 Goals in last Tuesday’s 3-2 win against Taft helping the Vikings to its second win of the season.
Ems Slam Canadians
The Eugene Emeralds returned home to PK Park last night for the first game of the league championship series against the Vancouver Canadians. The Ems dominated the game with a pair of 4 run innings including an Andy Thomas Grand Slam to set the pace in the bottom of the first inning. Final score 10-3. Play resumes this evening at 7:35 from PK Park.
Viking Volleyball
Viking Volleyball will be on the court this evening at home against La Pine. Competition begins at 5 pm for jv and 6:30 for varsity.
Cross Country
Viking Cross Country will take off this evening at the Fugate Farms Invitational in Bandon
