Mapleton Battles Siletz
Mapleton volleyball battled Siletz last night and took the match to 5 sets before coming out victorious. The two teams went back and forth for the first three matches with Mapleton losing the first and third sets. They were on the ropes in the 4th set down 20-24 when Helen Burruss served 5 serves in a row to win the fourth set 26-24. The Sailors were behind again when Siletz took a 10-9 lead. Burruss again with the serve dominated and Mapleton finished their opponents off with a 15-10 win. Coach Molly Dooley said the team’s mental toughness and a few key players leadership led to the victory.
Viking Football
The Vikings will be on the road this evening for football. The team heads to North Marion to face the Huskies. This is a non-league matchup and the Huskies are a 4A team and are 3-3 on the season. Game time on KCST is 6:45.
Mapleton Football
The Mapleton Sailors are scheduled to Face Crow this evening in 6 man football. Both teams had to cancel games last week due to not enough healthy players
Viking Cross Country
The Viking Cross Country team will be in Portland for the Rose City Championship today, runners will compete beginning at 1pm.
