Vikings/Billies
The Viking boy’s basketball team faced the #7 Billies of Pleasant Hill last night. The Billies showed no mercy to the struggling Viks pouring on 85 points allowing the Vikings just 36. It is their biggest scoring gap of the season.
The lady Vikings were also in Pleasant Hill against the 15-1 lady Billies. The billies defeated the Viks 56-11.
Mapleton/McKenzie
The Mapleton Sailors will be at home this evening against McKenzie. The games will be broadcast on KCFM beginning at 5:15. Boys are up first with the girls game to follow at 7pm.
Athlete of the Week
The Sports Club, the Siuslaw News and Coast Radio Sports congratulate sophomore Michael Felkins as this week’s Athlete of the Week. Michael chipped in 16 points in Friday night’s game against Elmira helping his team with the 51-30 victory. Scoring 9 of the 13 total points in the fourth quarter.
Honorable Mention
Honorable Mention goes to Mapleton Sailor sophomore Helen Burress who led the Sailors with 14 points in their 36-31 win over Kennedy on Saturday.
