Sailors Advance to Playoffs
The Mapleton Sailor Boys basketball team are headed to the state playoffs. Last night the Sailors defeated the Siletz Valley Warriors 43-38 to secure their spot in the playoff picture. Sophomore guard Alex Burnett scored 17 points, 10 of which came in the 4th quarter. The sailors will have their first game on Saturday at 10:45 in Junction City against the Triangle Lake Lakers. The Sailors have already played Triangle Lake twice this season, losing both games. Triangle Lake is tied for second in the Mountain West League with an 11-3 league record.
College Hoops
The Oregon State Beavers dropped their game to the Washington State Cougars last night in Pullman. Tyler Bilodeau came off the bench scoring 18 for the Beavers, but got little help from the rest of the team. The Cougars led the Beavers from buzzer to buzzer with 4 Cougars in double figures. Final 80-62. The Beavers head to Seattle tomorrow for a game with the Huskies. That game will air on KCFM beginning at 4:30. The Oregon Ducks head to Pullman on Sunday to face the Cougars, game time on KCST is at 3:30.
