Basketball Playoff
The Mapleton Sailors basketball team left early yesterday morning for Crane, Oregon. Carri Dean, Mapleton Athletic Director says the plan was to beat the severity of the storm. The Sailors are to play in the 1A playoffs this evening at 6 pm against Crane High School.
Viking Wrestling
With basketball completed for the Siuslaw Vikings all eyes are on the schools wrestling team. The state championships are this weekend in Portland. The competitions begin tomorrow and it has not been determined if the winter weather will disrupt the beginning of the meets. Siuslaw will send 8 wrestlers to the tournament. on the girls side it will be Macali Lade, Danin Lacouture and Jane Lacouture and the boys representing will be Dayne Muller, Mason Buss, Joel Sissel, Hunter Petterson and Jacob Mann.
