Watch for Scams

Winds of scams permeating the Florence community have been circulating. It is believed that a person or persons have been representing themselves as associates of businesses in town to solicit advertising.  Florence police Chief John Pitcher says there has been no formal complaint lodged, but that it is a good idea to be vigilant.  From time to time various scams come to light and before you put out a financial investment into something you should verify that the person soliciting you is whom they claim.  Scams on businesses and seniors costs millions of dollars every year.  And no one is exempt from the possibility of being scammed.  If you doubt the legitimacy of someone, or feel as if you are being scammed you can contact the authorities.
