Viking Baseball Cancelled Due to Snowy East
Viking baseball’s trip to Klamath Falls was cancelled yesterday due to inclement weather. Snow continues to be an issue in the eastern part of the state. Athletic Director Chris Johnson says they will work to find replacement games or reschedule.
Athlete of the Week
The Sports Club, the Siuslaw News and Coast Radio Sports congratulate senior Kyle Hughes as this week’s Athlete of the Week. In last week’s Siuslaw Icebreaker Kyle hit a personal best record in the Pole Vault at 13’8” garnering him a first place finish. Beating his previous best by 8 inches.
Honorable mention goes to sophomore Siuslaw Viking baseball’s Joel Sissel. Joel pitched 4 and 2/3 inning allowing no hits and striking out 9 and claiming the win for the Vikings.
Siuslaw Softball
Siuslaw Softball did get a game in yesterday. They faced Oakridge and managed 13 runs, however the Vikings lost 24-13. They host Waldport tomorrow at 2pm.
