Special District Track and Field; Game Postponed; Viking Game Moved to Bend

In a warmup for Saturday’s 21st annual Prefontaine Rotary Invitational the Vikings and Sailors competed in a Special District JV Tournament that included the Varsity roster.  Some of the results include a first place finish for Hunter Petterson in the 100 meter followed by Mapleton’s Ramil Beers in second.  Ray Brito-Xilot and Ramil Beers set personal records in the 200 meter coming in first and second respectively.  Jonathan Rose threw the Discus 134’4” and Kyle Hughes set another personal record in the Pole Vault at 14’1”  Dom and Tristan Stewart of Mapleton both set personal records in the long jump. Dom jumped 13’4.5” and Tristan hit 13’2.5”.  Will Johnson set a personal record in the triple jump at 36’ 8.5”

For the Girls Ava Borgnino set a personal record in the 100 m at 14.73.  She set another personal record in the 200 m at 31.09. Mapleton’s Helen Burruss took the 400m at 1:20.21.  Maya Wells took the top spot in the 800 and 1200 m.  Addison McNeill set a personal best in the 3000 with a time of 12:37.48 and Danin Lacouture set a personal best in the shot put at 28’6”

The Prefontaine Rotary Invitational will begin tomorrow at 10am at Marshfield High School in Coos Bay.

Game Postponed

Last night’s baseball game between the Ducks and Beavers was postponed until Sunday due to rain.  Tonight’s game is still on schedule. Pregame on KCFM is at 6:30

Viking Game Moved to Bend

The Siuslaw Vikings are set to play a double header in Bend today against La Pine. The games will begin at 2 pm with a 1:45 pregame on KCST.  Viking softball is also slated to play against La Pine.

Elmira/Mapleton will host a double header in softball today against Junction City/ Triangle Lake beginning at 3pm.
