Baseball Comeback

The Siuslaw Vikings are situating themselves as the comeback team as they faced Taft yesterday in Lincoln City.  Taft scored a run in the first and 2 in the second to take a 3-0 lead while the Vikings remained silent through 5 innings.  Coach Tom Shinn said it was difficult to keep stats due to the position of the field and the scoring system they use to compile stats.  But Shinn said Andrew Jensen Norman threw a good game for the Vikings and Max Reynolds extended his hitting streak to 11 games.  The Vikings broke out in the top of the 6th with 6 runs and Micah Blankenship drove in 3 runs on 1 hit and drew three walks on the night.  Final score 10-4.

Siuslaw Softball had the day off yesterday, but the Mapleton/Elmira team traveled to Harrisburg. Where they battled the Eagles in a high scoring game.  The Eagles came out on top with a 17-16 victory.
