Athlete of the Week
The Sports Club, the Siuslaw News and Coast Radio Sports congratulate Hunter Petterson as this week’s Athlete of the Week. Hunter won the 200 meter race, placed third in the 400 meter race with seasonal record times then helped his teammates to a second place finish in the 4X100 and a First Place finish in the 4×400 relays.
Honorable Mention
Honorable Mention goes to senior Jonathan Rose who won the discus with a Personal Record toss of 142’11” and a third place seasonal record Javelin toss of 145’2”
Viking Golf
The Siuslaw Viking golf team took the lead in the first round of the SD 3A golf tournament. Ryan Klampe shot a 74 to lead the Vikings. The Vikings scored their lowest total for the season shooting a combined 345. Will Johnson turned in an 85, Braxton Hulet shot a 90 followed by Camden Linton with a 96 and Jacob Walton a 104. Round 2 continues today.
Viking Baseball
The Siuslaw Vikings are on the road today for baseball and softball. They are traveling to Pleasant Hill High School for games that begin at 4:30. Viking baseball will be on KCST beginning at 4:15 and streaming live on our facebook page.
