Viking Golf District Champs
The Siuslaw Viking boys golf team are special District 3A champions. The Viking team took the lead after the first round and added to it in yesterday’s final round defeating their closest team by 41 strokes. The sophomore program has gone undefeated this season scoring 6 consecutive victories in tournaments. Sophomore Ryan Klampe was the overall champion with a first round of 74 and a second round 78. Blanchet Catholic’s Joseph Beyer was second with a 75 and 81 respectively. Siuslaw Freshman Will Johnson was 6th overall.
Viking Baseball
The Siuslaw Viking baseball team ran into some trouble with Pleasant Hill yesterday. The Billies dominated the Vikings after the Viks took a one run advantage in the top of the first inning. The Viks managed only 5 hits on the day and had 4 errors as the Billies piled on 11 runs. The Vikings are hoping for a home-field advantage this Friday as they face the Billies for two more games to end league play.
Viking Softball also faced Pleasant Hill. The Billies won 14-2.
Elmira/Mapleton Softball broke their 4 game losing streak with a win yesterday against Creswell, 15-7. It was Senior Night for the team.
