The Eugene Emeralds managed 7 hits last night as they battled the Tri-City Dust Devils, however they left 8 men on base and failed to convert any of their runners into a score.  The Dust Devils scored one run in the Third inning and 5 hits overall but it was all that was needed to take the first game of the 6 game series in Pasco.  A bright spot for the Ems was middle relief pitcher Daniel Blair who pitched 4 innings striking out 6 and allowing just 2 hits. Games continue this evening.

Elsewhere around the league the Vancouver Canadians defeated the Hillsboro Hops 4-3 and Spokane topped the Everett Aqua Sox 9-6.
