Girls Win First Soccer Game
The Siuslaw Viking girl’s soccer team scored their first win on the season. Ava Borgnino had 8 shots on goal and dropped three of them in the net for the hat trick and the only scores in the game. Holding La Pine to only three shots on goal. Siuslaw amassed their most shots on goal in a single game with 17
Mapleton Volleyball
Mapleton Sailor Volleyball lost to Eddyville last night. They played two matches losing the first in straight sets and taking the second match to four sets before the loss.
Viking/Mapleton Boys soccer visits Sisters this afternoon for a 3:45 matchup.

Athlete of the Week
The Sports Club, the Siuslaw News and Coast Radio Sports congratulate junior Mapleton Volleyball’s Morgan Milbrett as this week’s athlete of the week. Morgan followed up outstanding play against Jewel with 14 aces and 6 kills with another standout performance on Thursday with 15 aces and 5 kills in Mapleton’s 3 set win over Mannahouse Academy.
Honorable Mention goes to Lady Viking Soccer player sophomore Ava Borgnino who scored 3 goals in the Viking’s 5-5 tie versus Santiam Christian.
