Wells Named Viking Varsity Baseball Head Coach

Siuslaw High School Athletic Director Chris Johnson has disclosed the name of the new Head Baseball coach for the Siuslaw Vikings.  Alumnus and Florence native Derek Wells has been selected from the candidates.  Wells was a former Siuslaw baseball standout. During his time at Siuslaw he was named Far West League Player of the Year and was a First Team All-State pitcher and a member of Siuslaw’s first league championship team.  Wells also pitched in the 1996 Babe Ruth World Series.  Wells says it is an honor to be selected as the next Siuslaw Varsity Baseball coach and looks forward to the future success of Siuslaw Baseball.
