Athlete of the Week
The Sports Club, the Siuslaw News and Coast Radio Sports congratulate sophomore Micah Blankenship as this week’s Athlete of the Week. This season Micah has led the Vikings to the playoffs as a sophomore and accounted for the Viking’s 14 points in Friday’s loss against Dayton, including a 32 yard touchdown run midway through the second quarter. And a 2 yard touchdown run with a 2 point conversion before the half.
Honorable mention goes to senior Cort Waggoner who was recognized last week as the Mountain Valley Conference co-lineman of the year. At center for the Vikings Cort elevated the offensive line while also earning honors for his work on the defensive line.
Ducks Defeat Bulldogs
The Oregon Ducks rolled past the Georgia Bulldogs putting up 82 points against the Bulldogs 71. Dante’ N’faly and Brennan Rigsby shared the lead in points with 16 each, with N’faly grabbing a phenomenal 21 rebounds. The Ducks pulled down a total of 63 rebounds on the night.
OSU Over Linfield
The OSU Beavers defeated Linfield 82 – 46 with Jordan Pope leading the Beavers with 16. Tyler Bilodeau and Dexter Akanno added 11 each. The beaver had 33 points off the bench too to aid in the win.
Sports Break
The Vikings are having some time off this week and next with Basketball and wrestling heading up the lineup next later in the month of November.
