Vikings Far West Bound
Changes are coming for the Siuslaw Vikings. Athletic Director for Siuslaw High School, Chris Johnson, says a recent notice by the OSAA executive board will place several sports back in the Far West League beginning with next year’s schedule. Volleyball, basketball, softball and baseball will all be affected by this decision. Football is still undecided at this point. Other sports will continue to remain in unique special districts.
Basketball
The Siuslaw Vikings faced Taft last night in a non-league matchup. Taft defeated Siuslaw boys 68-35. The girls were defeated 66-14.
The Mapleton Sailors boy’s basketball team scored their 5th win of the season with a narrow victory over Central Christian. Winning 48-46. The Sailor Girls were also on the court. They also pulled out a narrow win 29-27.
