Creswell Defeats Siuslaw at the Free Throw Line
Creswell’s free throw ability late in the 4th quarter was the difference in the game for the Siuslaw Vikings last night as the Bulldogs came out on top 55-48. Andrew Jensen Norman led the Vikings with 16 points and 12 rebounds in the loss.
The Viking girls were outgunned as they still struggle to find their first win on the season. Bulldogs outscored the Vikings 71-19.
Sailors Win 8th Straight
The Mapleton Sailors were victorious against Siletz Valley last night improving to 5-0 in league play. Dom Stewart led the Sailors with 16 points, 13 rebounds and 6 steals in the 62-36 win. The Sailor Girls also won their game with Helen Burruss leading with 11 points and 3 steals and 5 assists in the 46-27 win.
On the court this evening the Mapleton Sailors boys will see if they can extend their win streak to 9 as they take on McKenzie on the road. The Sailors are 5-0 in league play and are tied for the league lead with Crow.
The Sailor Girls will also be on the court they are currently in second place in league play and are on their own win streak winning the last three games. They will face the McKenzie girls at 5:30 at McKenzie with the boys to follow.
Ducks and Beavers
Viking basketball will be preempted tomorrow evening due to a conflict with the Oregon Ducks. The Ducks will face the Arizona State Sun Devils beginning at 5:30 on KCST. The OSU Beavers will take on the Arizona Wildcats from Gill Coliseum tomorrow beginning at 7:30 on KCFM.
