Sailors Extend Win Streak
The Mapleton Sailor Boy’s Basketball continues to roll as they took on Eddyville Charter Friday night. The Sailors held Eddyville to just 19 points while laying down 52 in the win. Senior Keevyn Walker led the sailors with 19 points and Tristan Stewart helpe with 13. Freshman Roenin Barrows threw in 9 as he continues to impress the coaches. The sailors are on a 10 game win streak and are 15-2 overall and 7-0 in league play.
The Sailor Girls were up for a little tougher battle against Eddyville outlasting them 52-42. The girls are on their own win streak taking the last 5 and have set themselves firmly in second place in the league with a 6-1 record.
Next up for the Sailors is Alsea tomorrow evening. The boys hit the court at 5:30 followed by the girls at 7.
Siuslaw to Face League Leading Harrisburg
Siuslaw travels to Harrisburg tomorrow evening to face the league leading Eagles. The boys will take the court after the Viking Girls. Pregame on KCST will be at 5:45 with the girls tipping off at 6 and the boys scheduled for 7:30.
College Hoops
The OSU Beavers finished the sweep of Arizona teams on Saturday handily defeating the Sun Devils 84-71. The Oregon Ducks struggled against the Arizona Wildcats on Saturday. The Cats came out firing and led the entire game. Jermaine Couisnard led the Ducks with 20 and N’Faly Dante added 19 in the 87-78 loss.
