The Siuslaw Viking boy’s basketball team fell to 3-4 in league play last night in Harrisburg. The Eagles defeated the Vikings 43-23. Andrew Jensen-Norman led the Vikings with 8 points on the night, Gabe Deleon had 4.
The Viking Girls had a touch battle being held to just 6 points in the first half ending with a total of 15 in the 48-15 loss against the eagles.
The Vikings will head to Sisters next Friday evening with the girls taking the court first at 6pm with a 5:45 pregame on KCST.
Mapleton-Alsea
The Mapleton Sailors continue to dominate opponents. Last night the boys pounced on the Alsea Wolverines with a 72-31 victory. The Sailors led 40-10 at the end of the first half. Keevyn Walker scored a team high 26 points. Junior guard Alex Burnett scored all of his 16 points in the first half. Dom Stewart posted a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds and the team hit a season high 9 3-pointers. The sailors are now 8-0 in league play.
The Wolverine ladies stopped the Sailor win streak at 5 with a tough battle squeaking by the sailors 37-34. Mapleton is in second place in the league at 6-2. The Sailors face Triangle Lake on Thursday.
