Athlete of the Week
The Sports Club, the Siuslaw News and Coast Radio sports congratulate senior track and field athlete Dylan Jensen as this week’s Athlete of the Week. Dylan had an amazing showing in sisters with a personal record in the Pole vault of 13 feet 3 inches passing his previous mark by 2 feet three inches. His feat leads the team and puts him out front in 3A competition.
Honorable Mention
Honorable mention goes to sophomore Danin Lacouture who tossed the shot put for a personal record and a first place finish with 33’6” at Saturday’s sisters invitational.
Siuslaw Golf
Siuslaw Viking golf was on the links today and Ryan Klampe led the team and took a first place finish firing a 3 under 69. Vikings led the 13 teams with a 32 point victory.
Will johnson came in 4th overall with an 82 and Braxton Hulet in 8th.
Baseball
The Siuslaw Vikings hope to bounce back from a double-header shellacking when they face the Elmira Falcons in Elmira at 4:30 with a 4:15 pregame. The Viking softball team will also be in Elmira with a 4:30 first pitch.
