Vikings Win in 7th
They did it again. The Siuslaw Viking baseball team had yet another come from behind victory after trailing the entire game. The seventh inning has proven to be the moment that sparks the Vikings, this time with a little help from the Cottage Grove Lions. A couple of base hits by the Vikings and some poor ball management by the Lions helped to bring in 5 runs in the top of the 7th inning. The Vikings had a scare in the bottom of the inning when a run came across for the lions and runners on first and third base. With two outs.
“Vaughn at the plate, wind up and pitch, fastball right back to the pitcher goes to first and that’s it the Siuslaw Vikings pull off the Victory.”
Wayne Sharpe with the call, Vikings improve to 9-4 on the season. They have a three-game series against Harrisburg next week.
Viking Softball picked up their 3rd win of the season yesterday against Bandon/Pacific. The girls outscored their opponents 9-4 in the non-league game.
D1 Baseball
The Oregon Ducks will be at Stanford this weekend for a 3-game series against the Cardinal beginning this evening at 6 the Oregon State Beavers will be in Berkely to face the Cal Bears. Those games will be on KCFM with tonight’s game at 5:30 with the pregame and a 6:05 first pitch. Tomorrow and Sunday’s games will be at 3:30 and 12:30 respectively.

Siuslaw Athletes will be on the field today at Heyward in Eugene for the Oregon Relays presented by Athletic.net.
