PLayoff Run Over for Oregon Schools
The Oregon State Beavers and the Oregon Ducks will not be making the trip to Omaha. Yesterday the Beavers were knocked out of the tournament by the University of Kentucky. The beavers only managed 2 runs and both were the result of bases loaded walks. The two team were knotted at 2 until the seventh inning when a wild pitch scored the go ahead and subsequent winning run for the Wildcats.
The Oregon Ducks led 7-2 after 3 innings of play including three first inning Home Runs, but a disastrous 9 run seventh inning by the Aggies of Texas A&M put a damper on the game. The Ducks were up 4 when a series of hits and a grand slam home run made the score 13-8. The aggies added two more runs off a home run in the 8th. the Ducks scored one more in the bottom of the 8th, a solo home run by designated hitter Dominic Hellman.
