Ems Win Again; Olympic Trials Finish Sunday

Ems Win Again

The Eugene Emeralds continue to pound out wins on the winless Tri-City Dust Devils.  Last night at PK Park the Ems got the scoring going with a 3 run home run by Zach Morgan and scored 2 more in the bottom of the 8th.  Then with bases loaded Thomas Gavello hit a grand slam home run to right field to bring home the 8th run.  Tri-City did manage 4 runs on 8 hits.  Final 8-4.

The Ems host the dust devils again this evening beginning at 6:05.

Olympic Trials Finish Sunday

This weekend will be the final competitions in the US Olympic track and field trials.  Sunday signifies the final day.  Yesterday on Oregon Alum, Cole Hocker won his heat in the 5,000 meters.  Several other former Ducks advanced in the 5k and the 200 and 800 meters. The Trials have been a boom for the Eugene Economy as well. The trials are estimated to bring in over 40 million in revenue for the city and surrounding area.
