Bazzana Honored
Another honor has been bestowed on Beaver second baseman Travis Bazzana. He has been selected as a First team all-American by the College Baseball Foundation. Bazzana is just the 6th beaver to receive the honor in Oregon State History. That adds to his list of honors which include first-teamer by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA), Baseball America, D1Baseball.com, the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) and Perfect Game.
Ems Win in Extra Innings
The Hillsboro Hops had an 8-3 lead over the Eugene Emeralds last night but a series of hits and a couple of bases loaded walks in the top of the 7th allowed the Ems to regain the lead. But the Ems gave up the lead in the following two innings by letting the Hops score a run in each, tying up the game at 10. The Ems would regain the lead in extra innings scoring Bryce Eldridge on a double by Justin Wishkoski. Eugene would hold on to win retiring the hops in order in the bottom of the 10th.
