Klampe Wins Tournament; Shrine Game; Ems Lose 3 Straight

Klampe Wins Tournament

Last Week’s OGA Junior golf summer series saw Senior Siulsaw student Ryan Klampe rise to the top of the leader board to take tournament.  Klampe fired a 3 over par 75 to take the top spot.  His day was not perfect and despite his 5 bogies and one double bogie managed to out shoot the rest of the field.

Shrine Game

The East-West Shrine game featuring all stars from across the state including Siuslaw’s Cort Waggoner was played on Saturday.  Waggoner was a member of the east team which trailed most of the game being down 18-7 at one point.  East Scored twice in the second half to cut the lead to 26-21 with about 13 minutes left in the game, but that was all the scoring either team would put up.  This is one of the biggest Shriner Hospital fundraisers which provides free care for children.

Ems Lose 3 Straight

This past weekend the Eugene Emeralds could not find the right combination to defeat the Spokane Indians.  The Ems dropped 3 straight ending in a 2-0 shutout last night at PK Park.  The Ems are now in a three way tie for third place, 9 games behind the leaders.  The next face the Everett Aqua Sox.
