Summit to Focus on Coastal Issues

Coming up in October the Oregon Coast Visitors Association will be holding its annual end of season summit here in Florence.  Travel Lane County’s Andy Vobora says the two day summit will focus on several topics.

“People will be able to experience from important topics about working with our indigenous partners up and down the coast, issues around workforce which we know is a big issue up and down the coast.”

The summit will be on October 8th and 9th.  Voboro says it will also cover housing for workforce.  He says many businesses struggle during the winter months along the coast and having resources that can help prepare and educate businesses is a big part of what the summit and what Travel Lane County can bring to those businesses. While winter continues to be a struggle for many coastal businesses, Vobora says the future holds some positive gains.

“Certainly conferences are something that can happen throughout the year so as the new hotel comes up next to the Florence events center I think that’s going to be a great opportunity to secure more conferences and meetings for Florence.”

People interested in the summit can register through traveloregon.com.
