OPB Online Loan Portal

Oregon Pacific Bank is introducing a new way for local businesses to get financing.  OPB is offering an online portal for beginning the loan process.  OPB President Ron Green says it is a unique way for small businesses to seamlessly apply for loans.

“We’re finding that it is actually making the process faster.  We’ve been testing this for well over a year now but with referrals from our from our internal folks and just the start to finish from application to funding is less than half the time.”

Green says this does not mean that a business needing a loan for a piece of equipment or some other need can’t come in to the branch and speak with a loan officer.

“but often times people are busy and this allows them to have the technology portal on the front end to start it and get it going and then still have the person on the back end, the local person making the local decision.”

Green says the changing demographics brings in a new type of borrower that prefers using the technology for a more digital interface. But that they remain ready and available for each preferred customer experience.

“We still believe that that kind of personal connection, personal relationship is important so we need to find a way to blend that along with a better, faster, easier, simpler way to get the stuff to us.”

Green says customers can learn more at OregonPacificBank.com

SOS Clothing Glut

Siuslaw  Outreach Services Executive Director, Bob Teter says after the recent closing of the Better Living Center, SOS has been inundated with clothing.  He says they have run out of space to store the clothes and has even had to rent additional space for storage.  Teter say that due to the glut of clothing they will not be accepting any more clothing for the rest of the month and beginning in October they will only receive clothing on Wednesdays and Fridays.
