Viking Soccer

Siuslaw Varsity boy’s soccer remains undefeated this season in non-league play.  Last night the team faced the Delphian Dragons.  Londi Tomaro says the team played a good game of passing and worked together to create sustained pressure on offense.  The team knocked out 5 goals in the first half with Asher Borgnino and Kale Jensen both scoring two goals, the fifth goal was added with a penalty kick from Charles Nelson. Goalkeeper Terrance Masterman had 18 saves allowing only one to pass into the net.  The team has one more non-league game on Monday against North Bend. That game will be at home.

Viking Volleyball

Viking volleyball coach Mckenzie Perry says the team was scrappy last night in their match against Elmira. She said the game ran at a fast tempo and the Vikings came out victorious in 4 sets 25-17, 19-25, 25-14 and 25-13.  Several Vikings stood out with Chloe Clark serving 3 aces with 10 digs and 11 serve receive passes. Kylee Stinger had 40 assists on the night and Jolee Erickson had 3 aces and 14 kills. Next up is a Tuesday match at Junction City.

Rivalry Game

The Ducks and the Beavers are going to battle it out tomorrow in Corvallis. The Beaver’s defensive coordinator Keith Heyward says they are going to continue to work on tight coverages on the receivers with hopes of not giving the Ducks a lot of opportunities.  He says he has seen improvement from their first matchup against Idaho State to their last win against San Diego State.  The rivalry game will air on both KCST and KCFM tomorrow. KCST will have an extra 30 minutes of coverage beginning at 11 am.  KCFM coverage will begin at 11:30
