DMV Mistake

A Mistake by the Oregon Department of Motor Vehicles resulted in 11 non-citizens being registered to vote in Lane County.  The DMV notified the Lane County Elections Office with the information.  Lane County Elections conducted an audit and determined that none of the 11 people earmarked received a ballot in Lane County.  The names were subsequently removed from the voter list.  Information released said the 11 will be contacted and informed of the error.

Sunday’s Power Outage

Central Lincoln PUD is reporting that a feeder line that serves a substation north of Heceta Beach Road was the culprit in Sunday’s power outage that affected a large swath of customers north of town.  Power went out about 5 pm on Sunday and crews were dispatched to find the problem.  Service was restored from Heceta Beach Road to Sutton Lake at approximately 6:43 later that evening.
