Vikings Victorious

Siuslaw came from behind as time expired Friday night for a gritty 40-35 victory over Cascade Christian. The Viks had a 4th and goal with 3 seconds remaining, down by one point and Jr quarterback Micah Blankenship powered his way into the end zone as time expired. The score came after the Challengers secured their first and only lead of the game, 35-34 with 4 1/2 minutes remaining in the game. The visitors kicked off deep, putting the ball out of the end zone and Siuslaw, under Blankenship’s guidance mounted an 80 yard drive to secure their third victory of the season. They have next week off and will prepare for their Far West League opener on October 4th on the road in Myrtle Creek against the South Umpqua Lancers.
