Viking Victory

The Vikings trailed 22-21 at the half at South Umpqua High School Friday night. It wasn’t until late in the game that Siuslaw mounted an 80 yard drive to take a 7 point lead. The Lancers were unable to answer and Siuslaw remains undefeated to win their first Far West League game of the season 29-22. In other FWL action, Coquille beat Brookings-Harbor 41-20 and Douglas came out on top over Sutherlin 39-14. The Vikings will host the Douglas Trojans Friday night at Hans Petersen Field.

Cross Country Victory

The Siuslaw boys cross country team took 4 of the 8 top spots in Saturday’s Woahink Lake Cross Country invitational.  Senior Clayton Wilson took second place followed by freshman Henry Stone.  Two other freshman Bentley Nelson and Ezra King took 7th and 8th respectively.  The boys also took first place overall.  Senior Addison McNeill for the girls took third place. Fellow senior Maya Wells took the 10th spot with junior Abigail Jones finishing in 12th.

OSU Double Overtime Victory

Beaver fans held their breath on Saturday as the CSU Rams fought hard to try and upset OSU, but in the end it was the beavers who held on in two overtimes to take the victory 39-31.

Mapleton Volleyball

Mapleton Volleyball will host Mohawk this evening.  The game is scheduled for 6pm.

Viking Soccer

The Vikings Boys and Girls Soccer Teams will be on the Hans Peterson Field on Monday.  they will face Creswell.  The boys are up fist at 2:30 followed by the girls
