Viking Soccer

The Siuslaw Vikings hosted the LaPine Hawks on Hans Petersen Field on October 21, playing a controlled, slow-paced match due to several players nursing injuries. Despite the game’s moderate intensity, Siuslaw scored less than 10 minutes in, maintaining steady pressure throughout. They led 5-1 by halftime with goals from Asher Borgnino, Kale Jensen, Nicholas May, Ray Brito-Xilot, and Terrance Masterman. The second half saw fewer shots, with Korbyn Marler, May, and Masterman each adding a goal, plus an own goal from LaPine, ending the game 9-1. Siuslaw’s district sends four teams to the state playoffs, with the Vikings facing Sisters for the final berth. The Viking girls play today against Santiam Christian at 4:30.
