Viking Football Seeking 8-0 Season

The Siuslaw Vikings football team will end the regular season on the road this evening against Coquille. Head Coach Sam Johnson says that while they have the league championship wrapped up, even in the event of a tie, but he says 7-1 is not the best line for a t-shirt. He told his players:

“your goal, whatever outside goals were don’t matter, your goal was 8-0, league champions, undisputed league champions so our goal is still attainable.”

Johnson says Coquille will be playing with their hair on fire.  A win for them this evening and they will be in the playoffs.  Tonight’s game will air on KCST beginning at 6:45 and is available across several avenues including online at kcst.com and on the app at kcst coast radio available at the app store or the play store on your mobile device.

Soccer Playoffs

The first round of the special district soccer playoffs is tomorrow at 4:30 on Hans Petersen Field.  The Siuslaw Vikings will host Western Christian/Amity. The Pioneers are ranked 40th. Tickets can be purchased online or at the gate with cash. The winner will go on to face 5th ranked Dayton on Tuesday.

College Football

The OSU Beavers have the weekend off for football, the Oregon Ducks will face Michigan tomorrow who narrowly won against Michigan State last week. Pregame on KCST will begin at 10:30, kickoff at 12:30.
