Athlete of the Week
The Sports Club, the Siuslaw News and Coast Radio Sports congratulate Kale Jensen as this week’s Athlete of the Week. Kale competed back and forth between Cross Country and Soccer this season finishing the 5000 meters on Thursday with a Personal Record 17:57.94 and then hit the soccer field on Saturday where he scored both goals in the 2-0 win against Western Christian/Amity.
Honorable Mention
Honorable Mention goes to Viking Football’s Dylan Gray filling in for the injured Max Reynolds. Dylan, as backup running back, was teh leading rusher for Siuslaw in their win over Coquille, carrying the ball 15 times for 114 yards and one Touchdown
Soccer Playoff
The 6th ranked Dayton Pirates will host the 17th ranked Siuslaw Vikings today in soccer. The Vikings have suffered of late with injuries, but have found ways to keep winning games. The pirates are known for a strong, quick high scoring offense which the Vikings hope to quell. Gametime is 6pm in Dayton.
