High School Hoops
This evening the Siuslaw Vikings will host Toledo in High School hoops. The Viking girls will be first on the hardwood at Glen Butler court with the game airing on KCST. Pregame begins at 5:15 and tip off is at 5:30. The viking boys will follow.
Wrestling
Viking Wreslters are at the Grants Pass Winter Kickoff. Senior Macali Lade and junior Jacob Mann hope to continue their win streaks, both are undefeated on the season. Competition will continue through tomorrow with 17 teams competing.
College Hoops
The Oregon State Beavers will head to Honolulu for a tournament beginning on Sunday. They will face Charleston. The next broadcast Beaver Game on KCFM will be after the tournament on Monday December 30th against Portland.
The Oregon Ducks will take their 10-1 record to San Jose tomorrow to face the Stanford Cardinal. Stanford is 9-2 on the season. Gametime on KCST will be at 4:30 with a 5pm tipoff.
Mapleton Basketball
The Mapleton Sailors boys varsity fell to Union in the first round of the Bobcat Classic, 56-37. Senior Dom Stewart started strong with 10 points in the opening quarter, keeping the Sailors within one at 17-16. However, scoring slowed in the second half, as Union’s fast pace and tough defense widened the gap. Stewart led Mapleton with 15 points. The Sailors will play again tomorrow at 4:30 in the second round.
