Mapleton Basketball

The Mapleton Sailor boys varsity basketball team defeated the McKenzie Eagles 48-28 Tuesday evening at Mapleton. Despite a slow start, the Sailors rallied after halftime with a strong performance, scoring 17 points in the third quarter alone. Senior Alex Burnett led the team with 18 points, including 11 in the fourth quarter, and set a career high with eight steals. Sophomore Roenin Barrows added 12 points and impressed defensively with three blocks and three steals. Freshman Kam Wilson contributed across the board with six points, nine rebounds, and five assists. The Sailors, now 5-1 in league play, travel to face the Mohawk Mustangs this Thursday at 7 PM.

The Sailor Girls are off to a 5-0 start in league play with a strong showing against McKenzie last night.  Mapleton shot past the Eagles with a 55-23 victory.

College Basketball

The Oregon Ducks improved to 16-3 defeating Washington last night 82-71. TJ Bamba woke up scoring 21 points and leading the Ducks with 4 steals. Nate Bittle had 11 boards.

The OSU Beavers play tomorrow, they will host Pepperdine.
