Athlete of the Week: Macy McNeill
The Sports Club, the Siuslaw News and Coast Radio Sports congratulate senior lady Viking basketball’s Macy McNeill as this week’s athlete of the week. Macy racked up 17 points including 3 3 pointers, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 3 steals in the Viking’s 39-29 win over Douglas, playing a complete game as point guard and setting the offense and defense.
Honorable mention goes to Viking girls Aidell Cadet who had 10 points 4 rebounds and 7 steals in the win over Douglas.
Basketball
The Viking’s basketball team will be traveling to Coquille today to face the Red Devils. Coquille boys are 1-5 in league play while the coquille girls are undefeated. The Viking girls are up first at 5:30. Pregame on KCST will be at 5:15.
The 7-1 Mapleton Sailor girls were on the court last night for a rare mid-season non-league game against Powers. Powers defeated Mapleton 56-31. The loss does not effect their first place status in the Mountain West league. The will be back on the court this evening to face Crow.
The Mapleton boys will also be on the court against Crow at 7 pm.
The Oregon Ducks hope to halt their 5 game losing streak this evening against Northwestern. The Duck game will air on KCFM beginning at 7:30.
