Athlete of the Week
The Sports Club and Coast Radio Sports congratulate junior Siuslaw Wrestler Jacob Mann as this week’s Athlete of the Week. Jacob dominated the 215 pound weight class in last weekend’s Special District 3A championships, winning all three matches by fall. Earning him a number 2 seed in the State Championships.
Honorable mention goes to another champion Siuslaw wrestler Gage Mills going 3-0 in competition and earning a 4th seed in the state championships this weekend.
Mapleton Basketball Playoffs
The Mapleton Sailor girls will host the Powder Valley Badgers this evening in 1A basketball playoffs. Powder Valley had an 8-2 record in league play this season their 2 losses were against Union. The game will air on KCST this evening beginning at 5:45. The Mapleton Boys will have to travel tomorrow to Mololla to face Country Christian who finished 8-2 on the season. That game will also air on KCST beginning at 5:45 Wednesday.
